Can someone explain the concept of Liquidity Pools in DeFi?

Liquidity pools in DeFi are collections of funds locked in a smart contract that provide liquidity for traders to swap different tokens.
They enable decentralized trading by allowing users to earn fees as liquidity providers when others perform token swaps.
The pool's liquidity is determined by the amount of tokens in it, and prices are set automatically by an algorithm based on supply and demand.
