Can you recommend online courses or tutorials for technical analysis in crypto trading?
» Education and Resources- Investopedia offers a comprehensive course called "Cryptocurrency for Beginners" that includes technical analysis.
- "Crypto Trading 101: Buy Sell Trade Cryptocurrency for Profit" on Udemy is well-reviewed for technical analysis strategies.
- The Chart Guys provide detailed technical analysis tutorials specifically focused on cryptocurrency markets on their website.
Just been getting into crypto trading and I've heard a lot about 'technical analysis'. Seems like it could really up my game, so I'm looking to learn more about it. So, do you folks know any good online sites or tutorials that break this stuff down in an easy-to-understand way? I'm not looking for any hardcore trading jargon or anything, just some straightforward resources that could help me understand how to analyze crypto markets better. Got any recommendations?
Absolutely, I'd recommend you dig into "Investopedia’s Technical Analysis Course". They've got a wide range of topics that cover the basics to advanced techniques. If you're into video content, "Trading 212" on YouTube also shares a wealth of information about trading in general, including crypto.
Coinigy’s YouTube channel would also be beneficial. They've got several playlists dedicated to explaining technical analysis in the crypto market. Remember, start slow. It might be tempting to dive into the deep end, but you'll thank yourself later for understanding the basics first. And practice, practice, practice! Nothing replaces real experiences in the market. Do you use any trading simulator for practice?
Oh, sure, trading simulators are the virtual equivalent of training wheels for traders - just hopefully you won't end up with as many scraped knees as I did when I was learning to ride a bike! Room to make mistakes with pretend money instead of the real deal? Sign me up!
Well, I'm not sure I completely agree with that. You see, trading simulators might give you a false sense of confidence since the stakes are not real. It’s a whole different ball game when you’re dealing with your hard-earned money.
That's fair, real stakes can indeed alter the decision-making process. But could we also argue that simulators provide a playground to test new trading strategies which could be a reasonable first step? Any personal experiences with that?
I think it's really a matter of combining both learning aspects. Simulators are indeed a safe environment for testing your new strategies, learning about different indicators, and getting a feel of the markets. They are a stepping stone in your trading journey.
On the other hand, risking real money builds emotional aspects of discipline and risk management, which incidentally play an immense role in successful trading, yet are often overlooked in trading simulators because the emotional stakes are not the same.
Do you think trying both would give you a balance of theoretical knowledge and emotional discipline needed for trading?
An intriguing balance indeed, however, there's no perfect formula in trading and consequently no guarantee that blending both methods will work for everyone, right? I mean, different strokes for different folks, wouldn't you agree?
