How are governments approaching the regulation of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs)?

It's a mixed bag for sure. Some governments are embracing the innovation and legislating accordingly, while others seem a bit more hesitant.

Has there been any case where a government has treated a DAO as a legal entity? Or any jurisdiction where they have a clearly defined legal status? I haven't come across such instances yet, but would be interested to know if you've seen different.

I can't quite see that happening anytime soon. Not until they fully understand the ins and outs of DAOs, at least.
