Well, unless someone's paying with Bitcoin to prove they're not a bot, the whole crypto-ID link-up still seems more like a 'coming soon' feature than reality!

Yeah, crypto isn't really used for ID confirmation. Blockchain for identity is mostly in the experimental phase.
